EDF approves projects worth Rs.400m for BSOs

The Board of Administrations of Exports Development Fund (EDF), Ministry of Commerce, Government of Paksitan has approved multiple projects amounting to Rs.400 million relating to promotion of export in various sectors. These projects were approved in 58th meeting of EDF which include establishment of Entrepreneurship Development Institute for women at Lahore (Rs.10 million), establishment of Pak-Korea Garment Technology Training Institute at Karachi (Rs.10 million), up-gradation of Synthetic Fiber Development & Application Center, Karachi (Rs.30 million), Budget of Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design, Lahore (Rs.45.513 million), establishment of overseas office and Display Center of Pakistan, Bed Wear Association in EU (Rs.68.880 million), installation of Hi-Tech Machinery at Surgical Instrument Manufacturers Association, Sialkot (Rs.30 million), continuation of Child Labour Elimination Program in the Soccer Ball Industry till 2013-14, establishment of Exports Display Center by Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Rs.58.183 million) and establishment of Women Incubation/Development Center at Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Rs.35.050 million).

CIPE has provided great assistance to the business associations in Pakistan for writing projects to get funding/grants. As a result BSOs are submitting workable and effective projects to various organizations to have financial and technical assistance to run chambers and associations efficiently.
